Tasting Java Culinary, Legendary SOTO SANTAN KEDIRI⁣

typical food of Kediri City, East Java. Soto is at first glance the same as ordinary chicken soto, but has coconut milk so it tastes savory. Soto Kediri is widely sold in the Tamanan Terminal area, Mojoroto, Kediri City, because it is sold in the tamanan area since 1969, so this soto is also called Soto Tamanan. At the beginning of its establishment, this soto was around the Green Bridge, or kediri people used to call it Bok Ijo. For 3 servings⁣


- 1/2 chicken (sy pake ayam horn)⁣

- 200 ml coconut milk⁣

- 2 btg lemongrass, bruise ⁣

- 1 galangal segment, bruise ⁣

- 1 lbr bay leaf ⁣

- 2 lbr lime leaves ⁣

- 1 tbsp brown sugar ⁣

- 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce ⁣

- Sugar, salt, pepper to taste⁣

Fine Ingredients:⁣

- 6 btr shallots⁣

- 4 btr garlic⁣

- 2 segments of turmeric ⁣

- 1 segment ginger⁣

- 2 segments kencur⁣

- 2 btr pecans 

- 1/2 tsp coriander powder⁣


- Poached eggs⁣

- Fried peanuts⁣

- Boiled cayenne pepper⁣

- Sliced cabbage⁣

- Sliced scallions ⁣

- Fried onions ⁣

- lime eruk⁣

How to Make:⁣

1. Clean the chicken, set aside.⁣

2. Sauté fine seasoning, lemongrass, galangal, bay leaf, lime leaves until fragrant. Stir in the coconut milk, brown sugar, sweet soy sauce. Add water to taste. Wait until it boils.⁣

3. Put the chicken in. Boil for 45 minutes until the seasoning is infused. Taste correction.⁣

4. Remove the chicken from the gravy, drain. Then fry and suwir2.⁣

5. Arrange the chicken on top of the rice together with the complementary ingredients. Pour the soup on top.⁣
